The general timings of the temple is from 4 am to 11 pm. The bhasm aarti starts at 4 am followed by all other rituals. Prior online booking, a month in advance is required to witness this popular aarti. Bookings are also done a day in advance at particular a counter at the entrance of the temple.
The Indore airport is 51 kms from the Mahakaleshwar temple. One can plan to reach the temple by taking a train as there are four railway stations nearby. There are also buses operating to reach the temple and is one of the best mode of transport if one is planning for a road trip.
